AUSCO Orchestra
2025
Club Project
Overview
As part of the Web Development & Consulting Club, I served as the sole designer on a website project for the Auckland University Chamber Orchestra. Working within a multidisciplinary team of nine, I was responsible for translating the orchestra's vision into a cohesive, user-friendly digital experience for both students and the wider community.

Information Architecture & UX Design
I worked closely with the orchestra's representatives through regular client meetings to understand their needs and priorities for the website. These conversations directly shaped how I structured the site's navigation and content hierarchy, and taking them into consideration allowed me to develop a layout that reflected the main purpose of the site (which was for students to learn more about the club and its concerts).
Visual Design & User Interface
My design focus was on creating an approachable, intuitive experience, balancing professionalism with warmth. I also designed animations, such as parallax scroll effects and hover animations for a more interactive and polished browsing experience. I iterated on these Figma wireframes in response to feedback from both the client and my 9 developer teammates, adapting my decisions to technical constraints that arose throughout the project.
Collaboration & Communication
One of the more valuable aspects of this project was learning to work at the intersection of design and development. I learned to translate visual concepts for a developer team, explaining the reasons behind my designs. I also honed my ability to articulating digital concepts simply when working directly with the clients.
